My main research interests are in computer networking and security, especially multimedia streaming and transport layer protocols tickle my fancy. Apart from my time spent on research, I enjoy swimming (lifesaving), nature walks and being an amateur photographer. You can cycle through a small selection of my pictures by pressing the splash link above.

The purpose of this website is to serve as my personal portfolio of publications, projects and experiences. I invite you to take a look around. You can always contact me on any of the above social media if you have a burning question.

Summer 2018

Software developer

Expertise Center for Digital Media, Hasselt University, Diepenbeek

The summer of 2018 provided me with the opportunity to work on research related projects in the domain of multimedia streaming. I worked on a videoplayer concept for Object-Based Media (OBM) which revolves around the delivery of non-static media presentations, by delivering video as a set of atomic objects associated with a scene instead of a precompiled experience. Besides OBM, I helped with benchmarking the performance of video compression versus JPEG compression for static light field streaming. This work was used in a paper titled Standards-compliant HTTP Adaptive Streaming of Static Light Fields
